Prototyping, GitHub and code training

Learn how to make prototypes with Github, the GOV.UK prototyping kit and basic coding skills.

What you’ll learn

This course is split into two 2 hour sessions:

  • Introduction: GitHub and an introduction to code
  • Intermediary: prototyping and command line

In the introductory session we’ll cover:

  • GitHub and version control
  • making changes to HTML
  • branching and pull requests

In the intermediary session we’ll cover:

  • command line
  • the GOV.UK prototyping kit
  • HTML and CSS
  • setting up Heroku

Who can attend

Contractors or civil servants working in Home Office Digital, Data and Technology.

How to prepare

Before you attend, follow the ‘First time set up’ instructions in the prototyping training documents.

Dates

Sessions run a few times a year.
