Ethics board approval

You must get ethics board approval if you plan to recruit user research participants from certain groups.

These include people who:

  • are prisoners or offenders
  • are non-English speakers
  • are illiterate
  • are under 16
  • have mental health conditions
  • have autism or severe learning difficulties
  • have dementia, brain injuries or other conditions that impair decision making

Researchers should first submit their research proposals. We’ll then get in touch to talk about your research session.
