How to become a service assessor

In this training you’ll find out how to be part of the service assessment team at the Home Office.

What you’ll learn

The training will help you deliver better services, build networks, and help raise your profile across the Home Office and government.

You’ll learn:

  • what an assessor does

  • how assessors make decisions based on the Digital Service Standard

  • how to write an assessment report

There’ll be a question and answer session with experienced assessors and the opportunity to take part in a mock assessment.

After the training you’ll be encouraged to observe 2 assessments before becoming an assessor yourself. You’ll then take part in an assessment once a quarter.

Who can attend

Contractors or civil servants working in Home Office Digital, Data and Technology.

You need a recommendation from your head of profession or professional lead.

How to prepare

You need to be familiar with the Digital Service Standard.

Dates

Sessions run a few times a year, or on request.

Course location

Any Home Office location.
